About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Front of House Operations Manager to join our upmarket restaurant in Cape Town. As the face of our front-of-house operations, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless customer experiences, managing staff, and maintaining high standards of quality and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage large teams and large menus in a fast-paced environment
  • Ensure efficient operations during peak hours (8am to 10pm, 7 days a week)
  • Implement COS principles and cost management strategies to optimize profitability
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to implement brand-building initiatives
  • Work under pressure to meet deadlines and achieve targets

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years in junior to middle management in an upmarket hotel and/or restaurant environment
  • Experience with large operations, large menus, and large staff complements
  • Proven customer focus and ability to work with diverse groups of people
  • Strong logical thinking skills and ability to prioritize tasks under pressure
  • Good wine and spirit knowledge
  • Own transport and willingness to work long hours at a fast pace

Qualifications

  • Matric (or equivalent)
