Job Description

A leading luxury hotel in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Front Office Manager to lead front office operations within a high-volume, fast-paced hotel environment. This is a senior operational role requiring strong leadership presence, hands-on floor management, and regular Duty Manager shifts . The role is suited to a confident hospitality professional with proven experience in 4- or 5-star hotels , strong systems knowledge, and the ability to manage large teams while maintaining exceptional service standards. Minimum Requirements (Essential) Applicants must meet all of the following requirements to be considered: Proven experience as a Front Office Manager or Assistant Front Office Manager in a 4- or 5-star hotel Experience in hotels with 200 rooms or more Strong operational front office background, including reception, reservations, and guest services Opera PMS experience is essential Willing and able to work shifts , including weekends, evenings, and public holidays Willing to perform Duty Manager shifts South African ID (non-negotiable) Matric (Grade 12) Relevant Hotel Management / Hospitality qualification Strong understanding of luxury service standards and guest recovery Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills Professional appearance and strong attention to detail Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee all Front Office operations, including Reception, Guest Services, and Concierge Lead, train, and manage the Front Office team to ensure consistent service delivery Ensure smooth guest arrivals, departures, and occupancy flow during peak periods Handle guest complaints, escalations, and service recovery professionally Conduct regular Duty Manager shifts , overseeing overall hotel operations Maintain accurate records, reporting, and guest profiles on Opera Work closely with Housekeeping, Reservations, Finance, and Food & Beverage teams Monitor staffing levels, rosters, attendance, and performance management Ensure front office procedures comply with brand standards and SOPs Only candidates meeting the minimum requirements will be considered.
