About the Role
Our Client in the Cape Town area is seeking skilled Master Electricians to join their team. As a Master Electrician, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing various electrical tasks, including installation, repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. If you are a South African citizen with a valid Master Electrical License, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee preventative maintenance inspections and repairs in all district facilities of power distribution systems and components.
- Prioritize, schedule and assign work. Provide training, guidance and coaching. Assist technicians in troubleshooting system malfunctions.
- Oversee maintenance repair and troubleshooting for electrical systems and apparatus.
- Develop and oversee repairs on all indoor and outdoor lighting systems.
- Oversee installation of electrical services for construction projects such as: computer labs, power upgrades, mobile classrooms, parking lots and field lighting installations
- Review pre-construction documents and technical guidelines for district standards.
- Investigate and make suggestions regarding the implementation of new energy management equipment and devices.
- Respond to emergency electrical calls such as power outage and failures. Evaluate situation and take proper corrective action.
- Oversee inspections for contractor performed work in renovations and new construction projects.
- Responsible for identifying, estimating and prioritizing trade related improvements for district properties.
- Locate electrical underground wiring for various projects.
- Review and authorize department purchases ensuring transactions meet district guidelines.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in the trade
- Trade tested (Red seal) courses required to meet state regulations for a Master Electrical License
- Five or more years of experience in related trade
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Clear Criminal background check
- Valid Master Electrical License
