Wine Steward – Exclusive Luxury Five Star Property, Cape Town The Wine Steward supports the Sommelier team in the daily management, service, and presentation of the wine programme at the property. The role focuses on delivering knowledgeable, refined, and personalised wine service in line with property standards. Key Responsibilities Assist with wine service in restaurants, private dining, and events. Ensure correct handling, storage, and presentation of wines Support the maintenance and organisation of wine cellars and storage areas Assist with stock control, inventory counts, and cellar administration. Maintain cleanliness and presentation of all wine-related service areas. Deliver knowledgeable and professional wine recommendations to guests. Work closely with the Food & Beverage and Culinary teams to ensure seamless service. Adhere to all health, safety, and service procedures. Clean Disciplinary record Good attendance record Qualifications & Experience WSET Level 1 or 2 (or currently studying) Experience in luxury hospitality or fine-dining environments Previous exposure to wine cellar operations Previous experience in Food & Beverage service within a hotel or restaurant environment Genuine interest in wine and beverage service Strong communication and interpersonal skills High attention to detail and presentation Willingness to learn and develop wine knowledge. Basic: 16 500K gross salary per month Medical Aid: 50% towards the main members’ contribution only Pension: 6% contribution both ways Gratuity: Paid monthly in arrears as per the split calculation. EE: Only South African Nationals preferred. Shift Work: Early: 06:30 -15:30 / Late: 14:00 – 23:00 / Night: 22:00 – 07:00
