Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities

Administer and manage the construction contract in accordance with its terms and conditions.

Maintain accurate site records, correspondence, progress reports, drawings registers, and site instructions.

Prepare payment certificates, measure quantities, and manage variation orders.
-
Ensure compliance with design principles and report discrepancies in contract documents.
-
Oversee quality assurance and ensure all works are executed safely and in accordance with specifications.
-
Verify contractor setting-out accuracy and ensure proper materials testing.
-
Act as the Employer’s Site Agent and manage stakeholder relationships.
-
Facilitate communication between the Engineer, Employer, and Contractor.
-
Conduct site meetings and maintain formal records.
-
Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior staff while maintaining professional development.
Knowledge and Skills
-
Strong understanding of construction contract administration and project management principles.
-
Sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards, regulations, and statutory requirements.

Technical expertise in road construction and infrastructure projects.
-
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
-
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Education
-
Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech).
Experience
-
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in SANRAL or Provincial Roads projects.

Proven technical background in road construction supervision and contract management.
Qualifications
-
Professional Registration with a recognized engineering body.
-
Ongoing participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
