About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Branch Manager to join our team at SA Metal in Cape Town. As a Branch Manager, you will be responsible for providing support to our branches and reporting directly to the Operations Manager. Your primary goal will be to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the branch, while also maintaining excellent customer relations and adhering to company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily operations planning and management of the branch
- Negotiating purchases with suppliers
- Leading and managing a team to achieve operational requirements
- Ensuring compliance with Company policies and Health & Safety regulations
- Training staff on the Second Hand Goods Act and ensuring strict adherence to its guidelines
- Maintaining accurate classification and grading of commodities as per company policies and procedures
- Verifying weights of commodities accurately
Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent education
- Computer proficiency with packages including MS Word, Excel
- Good numeracy skills and basic knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals
- Ability to work quickly and under pressure
- At least 3-5 years applicable managerial experience
- Valid drivers license and own reliable transport
- Basic knowledge of the second-hand goods act
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals (no formal education mentioned)
