About the Role

An opportunity for an experienced SCRAPYARD SUPERVISOR is required for permanent employment based in Cape Town. To oversee and coordinate all scrap handling activities at the plant, ensuring the correct identification, sorting, preparation, and flow of ferrous and non-ferrous materials feeding into the production process.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all scrap handling activities at the plant

• Ensure the correct identification, sorting, preparation, and flow of ferrous and non-ferrous materials

• Supervise teams in a heavy industrial or high-risk environment

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years experience in the steel industry, preferably within scrapyard operations, raw materials handling, furnace preparation, or metallurgical environments

• Strong background in scrap sorting, categorisation, identification, and grading

• Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including their value, melting characteristics, and processing requirements

Qualifications

Scrap classification training or metallurgical exposure (adv)
