SENIOR BRIDGE ENGINEER – Cape Town, SA OR Durban, KZN

Our Client, a highly reputable Global Award-Winning Engineering firm is currently expanding their dynamic team of engineering professionals and in search of an experienced senior bridge engineer.
One would describe you as a courteous and business orientated professional who has very strong commercial project management knowledge especially in the context of medium to large scale bridges related projects specifically.
You are articulate, decisive and possess a strong organisational ability to meet set project deadlines whilst working under pressure.
Main Purpose of the role:
Be responsible for providing professional services on medium to large sized projects, including design management, design delivery as well as managing of professional teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the general management of medium/large projects
- Responsible for the project management and coordination of multi-disciplinary project teams
- Budgetary management, including resourcing and outsourcing of project work
- Drafting of competent and presentational quality technical reports
- Oversee, mentor and train project teams
- Draft successful responses to bids
- Client communications and relationship building
- Identifying and following through on leads associated with additional work prospects
- Supervise Engineers or Technicians in undertaking checks and inspections of constructed works for compliance with design and specifications, including monitoring and proposing remedial actions
- Development and/or improvement of function group specific design procedures
- Plan and coordinate investigations and surveys
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQURED
- Bachelor of Engineering degree/higher degree from accredited university/college
- Relevant Professional Registration with the ECSA
- 5-8 years post registration related structural engineering experience gained with specialisation in bridges being essential
- Working knowledge with pre-cat concrete as well as insitu concrete
- Proven and effective report writing skills
- Proficiency on MS Office, in particular MS Excel and MS Powerpoint
- Knowledge of QA and OHS requirements
