About the Role
As a Stores Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our warehouses and ensuring that goods are delivered to our clients on time. This is a challenging role that requires strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage a diverse team.
Key Responsibilities
- Scheduling and Monitoring: Managing schedules and tracking shipments to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Resource Allocation: Optimizing resources allocation to handle different deliveries effectively while keeping cost and time in mind.
- Stock control: Ensuring that the correct goods and quantities are supplied to clients as per the invoice/delivery note.
- Communication: Maintaining open channels of communication with drivers, clients, operations team, and logistics partners.
- Problem-solving: Addressing unforeseen issues like traffic jams or vehicle breakdowns to ensure timely resolutions.
- Feedback: Attending relevant meetings to discuss issues, recommendations, and stock control.
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) preferred
- Unendorsed Drivers licence (code 08)
- Ability to communicate fluently in both English and Afrikaans
- Proven ability to problem solve in a complex and demanding environment
- Proven ability to manage a diverse medium-sized team
- Willingness to work overtime as and when required to ensure operations run smoothly
Qualifications
- Preferably have at least 2 (two) years’ working experience in a warehouse or similar environment as a supervisor/manager.
