About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our Finance team on a 4-month contract. As a Centurion, you will be supporting the day-to-day operations of our finance department, capturing and processing transactions, and ensuring accuracy in all financial data.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Finance team with daily tasks such as data capturing, entering transactions, and confirming the accuracy of entered information
- General financial administration including filing, compliance, and control management
- Processing general ledger entries, control, and administration
- Assisting with accounts payable activities such as creditors’ invoices, payments, recons, queries, and age analysis
- Payment processing and bank account capturing and reconciliations
- Petty cash capturing and reconciliations
- Maintaining fixed asset registers and capital accounting
- Preparing balance sheet schedules and reconciliations
Requirements
- Relevant bookkeeping/financial certificate or diploma
- 6 Months’ experience in bookkeeping or accounting
- Experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, and Google documents
- Experience in Xero or similar accounting system
- Experience in working with VAT, Tax, and Payroll
- Deadline-oriented with attention to detail
- Good communication skills and the ability to communicate well in English and Afrikaans
Qualifications
- Completed bookkeeping/financial certification
- Relevant experience in bookkeeping or accounting
