Diesel Service Advisor

Job Summary
The ideal candidate will act as the liaison between customers and our workshop team, ensuring excellent customer service and efficient workflow management.
You will handle inquiries, provide service updates, and maintain customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Interaction: Greet customers warmly, assess their needs, and provide expert advice on diesel vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Service Coordination: Schedule vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs while ensuring timely communication with customers regarding progress and costs.
- Work Order Management: Create detailed work orders, liaise with technicians, and ensure accurate job cards for repairs and services.
- Upselling Services: Identify and recommend additional services or products that enhance vehicle performance.
- Problem Resolution: Address customer concerns promptly and effectively, ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of customer information, service history, and payment details.
- Parts Coordination: Work closely with the parts department to ensure the availability of necessary components for diesel vehicles.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a Service Advisor, preferably in a diesel or heavy vehicle environment.
- Education: Matric certificate; post-secondary qualification in automotive or customer service will be an advantage.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of diesel engines and vehicle systems.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in service management software (e.g., Automate, Kerridge, or similar).
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Other: Valid driver’s license and reliable transport.
