About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Centurion, Product Development. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for driving innovation and improvement across our product ranges, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality designs that meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- 3D CAD models: designs and presentation to clients
- Preparation of manufacturing and supplier part drawings
- Conduct concept and design reviews
- Manage and support the day-to-day design activities
- Provide creative and technically feasible solutions for cost savings, service issues, and product improvements
- Interface with materials and purchasing on new part design and sourcing
- Interface with Analysis, Test, and Manufacturing Engineering to determine the most effective and economical use of materials and manufacturing processes
- Interface with the Product Regulation and Compliance staff to design products that meet government regulations, restrictions and codes
Requirements
- B Eng. / BSc in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 7 years of design experience
- Ability to plan and execute project plans
- Ability to guide and mentor other engineers
- Innovative and self-driven
- Hands-on approach to problem solving
- Readily able to adjust to changing priorities
- Objective orientated, setting goals and meeting deadlines
