• Lead and mentor a team of credit underwriting analysts to ensure high performance and development.
• Support the Global Head of Underwriting in conducting credit risk assessments, reporting, and portfolio management.
• Perform in-depth financial analysis, setting limits & ratings, and conducting re-assessments for a global oil marketing portfolio.
• Provide expert guidance on credit risk appetite and asset valuations.
• Monitor market sector trends and produce macro-economic analysis for informed decision-making.
• Report on credit risk performance and KPIs to senior management.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior management and the commercial credit team.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Accounting, Economics, or Business Studies.
• Post-graduate qualifications or certifications such as Chartered Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or similar are highly advantageous.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in Credit Risk or Credit Underwriting, with a strong focus on mining, commodity trading, banking, or consultancy. This experience is essential and non-negotiable.
• Extensive experience in financial analysis and reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access); skills in VBA, PowerBI, or Python are a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
