ACCOUNTANT – MULTI-ENTITY / MULTI-MARKET A leading supplier of promotional products and marketing collateral across Africa is looking for a skilled Accountant to join their finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to manage accounting operations across multiple entities and markets within a growing group. About the Role The Accountant will handle the full spectrum of day-to-day accounting activities, working closely with the Group Financial Controller. This includes maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring statutory compliance across all regions, and supporting the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and audits. Key Responsibilities -Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts and operational reports -Assist with variance analysis and monthly fluctuation commentary -Manage journals, general ledger balances, and month-end balance sheet reconciliations -Support the preparation of annual financial statements -Coordinate external audits -Prepare budgets, forecasts, and business plans; monitor performance against targets -Verify payments before processing and manage petty cash -Ensure full compliance with all Revenue Authority and Government regulations -Handle timely submission of statutory returns (PAYE, WHT, VAT, import duty, etc.) -Maintain daily transaction entries in accounting software -Reconcile all ledgers; follow and document month-end procedures -Maintain strict internal control compliance -Handle customer billing, debt collection, and monthly account reconciliations -Process supplier invoices and perform monthly supplier reconciliations -Manage commission schedules and ensure timely supplier payments -Maintain the fixed asset register -Perform daily bank reconciliations and manage banking practices -Prepare and monitor cashflow -Provide accounting support to all offices as needed -Perform other duties as assigned by the Group Financial Controller Requirements -Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from a reputable institution -2–4 years’ experience in an accounting department or audit environment with strict deadlines -Strong financial and analytical skills -Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Xero (advantageous) -Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational ability -Ability to manage accounting functions across multiple entities and markets -Excellent communication skills
