Job Summary
As part of a well-established group with diverse operations, you’ll oversee the full financial function for key business units, ensuring accurate reporting, sound controls, and efficient processes. You’ll play a pivotal role in translating strategy into numbers, supporting decision-making at the senior level, while coaching and developing your Junior Manager. This is an opportunity to make your mark in a business that values initiative, precision, and commercial insight.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Financial Management: Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide the Junior Financial Manager, fostering professional development.
- Strategic Support: Work closely with the Senior Financial Manager to drive budgeting, forecasting, and business planning.
- Reporting & Analysis: Deliver monthly management accounts, Board packs, and variance analysis.
- Controls & Compliance: Maintain robust financial controls, ensure regulatory compliance, and support audit readiness.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement efficiencies in financial systems and workflows.
Qualifications & Skills:
- BCom Degree in Finance or Accounting. CA(SA) or CIMA advantageous
- 5–7 years financial management experience in a commercial environment
- Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage and mentor teams
- Solid technical knowledge across reporting, controls, and compliance
- Advanced Excel skills, and exposure to various ERP systems is advantageous
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
