A prestigious boutique hotel in Durban is seeking a skilled and passionate Chef de Partie to join its culinary team and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences for guests. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of an assigned kitchen section.
  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes to the highest quality standards.
  • Ensure all mise en place is completed accurately and efficiently before service.
  • Maintain consistency in food preparation, portion control, and presentation.
  • Supervise and support Commis Chefs and junior kitchen staff.
  • Monitor stock levels within your section and report shortages promptly.
  • Minimise wastage through effective stock rotation and portion control.
  • Ensure all food is stored, handled, and prepared in accordance with food safety regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation within your designated section.
  • Assist with menu preparation, special events, and private functions.

Requirements

Relevant Culinary Qualification or Professional Chef Certification.

Minimum 2–4 years’ experience as a Chef de Partie, Demi Chef de Partie, or Senior Commis Chef within a hotel, resort, lodge, restaurant, or hospitality environment.

Strong cooking skills and experience within a professional kitchen.

Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP principles.
