Durban: Java Developer

Key Responsibilities Maintain and enhance existing backend applications Develop and implement new system features based on business needs Work with stakeholders to gather and translate requirements Research and propose scalable technical solutions Ensure clean, reliable, and production-ready code Collaborate within an Agile/Scrum-based team Work with the following technologies: Java 11, Jakarta EE, JPA, REST, JSON, Maven, TDD, Git, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Docker, GlassFish/Payara, IntelliJ IDEA Minimum Requirements Degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering OR equivalent experience 3 years experience developing backend systems in Java / Jakarta EE Strong understanding of object-oriented programming Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON and SQL databases Comfortable working in Linux development environments Experience using version control (Git preferred) Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies Good communication and teamwork ability Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset Advantageous Android development Angular (Typescript) / Bootstrap RabbitMQ Gradle Prior experience in logistics or similar industries
