Job Summary
Job Title: Junior Store Buyer
Location: Durban, South Africa
Hire Resolve, a reputable recruitment agency, are currently seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our client`s team as a Junior Store Buyer in their Durban store. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the selection and purchasing of merchandise for our client`s retail store to ensure that they have the right products available to meet customer demand and drive sales.
Responsibilities:
- Assist senior buyers in researching and identifying new products or suppliers
- Analyze sales data and trends to make informed purchasing decisions
- Negotiate with suppliers on pricing, terms, and delivery schedules
- Place purchase orders and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery
- Monitor inventory levels and work with the store manager to maintain optimal stock levels
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies for merchandise
- Handle any product returns or quality issues in a timely manner
- Stay current on industry trends and competitor offerings to ensure we remain competitive in the market
Requirements:
- Bachelor`s degree in business, marketing, or related field
- 1-2 years of experience in retail buying or merchandising
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory management systems
- Knowledge of the retail industry and current market trends
- Valid driver`s license and reliable transportation
