About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and operationally strong Transport / Logistics Coordinator to manage daily transport operations, fleet movements, and driver coordination in our logistics environment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery and upliftment from ports and depots.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and monitor daily transport routes, ensuring timely delivery and upliftment from ports and depots
- Manage port and depot bookings
- Dispatch and debrief drivers, maintaining clear communication regarding routes, delays, and changes
- Oversee fleet maintenance, ensure vehicle roadworthiness, and manage breakdowns
- Process purchase orders and manage Proof of Deliveries (PODs), manifests, and related documentation
- Conduct toll and diesel reconciliations
- Provide ETAs, communicate delays or breakdowns, and resolve delivery queries
Requirements
- Experience in logistics, transport, or a similar operational role
- Strong planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transport management systems (e.g. Bidtrack, QuickBooks, Digit FMS)
- Sound understanding of transport documentation and port/depot procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (if applicable)
