Durban: Senior Technical Manager: SA

Minimum Job Requirements: M.Sc Chemistry / M.Tech or PhD/ Analytical Chemistry. Minimum 10 to 15 years experience in the printing inks, chemical/polymer industry. Excellent knowledge on Analytical Techniques and Regulatory / product safety. You will be responsible for: Product Development: Develop and establish products in accordance with customer needs to satisfy both product application and product cost targets. Successfully implement technologies, application services and products. Product Compliance: Ensure product compliance as per standards, processes and guidelines. Product Optimisation: Consistently analyse existing products with a view to improving functionality and reducing product cost. Efficient project and resources management. Market Support: Analyse market needs which influence product/technology developments. Ensure co-operation and information sharing between R&D, Technical Service & Sales force. Develop and implement business plans and objectives. Customer and Internal Support: Advise and consult customers and affiliates on technology/product issues. Provide support to Production/Operation, QC and Application teams. Work closely with Procurement team to develop new vendors/suppliers to generate alternate and low-cost materials. Identify and implement cost reduction projects with Procurement team. Technology Transfer: Define and co-ordinate adjustments for regional product portfolio and technology in co-operation with Group technology. Training and Development: Develop regional technical capabilities as well as ensure know how transfer within the region . Competencies: Good knowledge on printing inks and packaging industry.
