Job Summary
Employer Description Our client is a manufacturer of PVC products. Job Description You will be responsible for the following: Maintenance and repair of plant machinery and equipment. Accept the responsibility of being the legally appointed GMR 2.1 representative for the site. Improve production efficiency through maintenance activities. Initiate and execute routine preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance tasks, general repairs and plans. Work with the factory manager to effectively manage site maintenance, maintenance planning as well as continuous improvement projects. Responsible for all mechanical and electrical repairs to equipment and machinery with the assistance of subordinates. Responsible for keeping records of all maintenance activities. Implement effective housekeeping and safety policies and practices. Perform stand-by duties when required. Qualifications Millwright (Red Seal) with Trade Test qualification Mechanical or Electrical Engineering N5 as a minimum Qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety will be advantageous Skills 5 years in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment, ideally with supervisory experience. Demonstrated experience in machinery maintenance, both electrically and mechanically. GMR 2.1 representative experience would be advantageous Experience in plastic manufacturing (extrusion and injection moulding) Proficiency or qualifications with fitting and turning would be advantageous. Ability to interpret (and ideally create) electrical and mechanical drawings. Knowledge of Plastic material processing equipment such as extruders, injection moulders, mixers, granulators, pulverisers as well as chillers, air compressors, various 380V/400V equipment. Knowledge of VSDs, PLCs, HMIs, AC/DC Motors and various electrical component fault finding and installation. Knowledge of Hydraulics and pneumatics Knowledge of Water/Vacuum Pump/Mechanical seal and motor maintenance (bearing and changes etc)
