About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Professional Architect (Pr. Arch) to serve as the Lead Architect for a dynamic, multi-disciplinary professional practice managing an extensive in-house property portfolio. The successful candidate will oversee the full project lifecycle from conceptual inception to Facility Management (FM) handover ensuring design excellence, technical accuracy, and regulatory compliance across commercial and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary Architect for small to medium-scale multi-discipline projects within a large-scale corporate property portfolio.
- Execute all architectural work stages (SACAP Stages 16), including design development, technical documentation, and construction oversight.
- Collaborate with the BIM Manager to develop and optimize multi-discipline Revit and Project AEC systems.
- Oversee the planning and management of comprehensive contract documentation, providing leadership and technical direction to a team of Technologists.
- Manage municipal submission processes and ensure all projects meet SACAP area certification standards and NBR/SANS requirements.
- Act as the Principal Agent, coordinating multi-disciplinary services and managing stakeholder expectations throughout the construction process.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of Building Contract Administration (JBCC/PROCSA).
- Expert application of SANS 10400 and National Building Regulations (NBR).
- Strong mentorship abilities to guide junior staff and technologists.
- Exceptional coordination skills for multi-disciplinary professional service teams.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (B.Arch or equivalent) from an accredited tertiary institution.
