About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for a Refrigeration Foreman within an FMCG environment in the Western Cape. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining all refrigeration plants, with a focus on safe, reliable, and energy-efficient operations, in line with company standards, OEE targets, and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all refrigeration plants
- Support fault-finding and repairs of ammonia and Freon refrigeration systems
- Ensure accurate reporting on maintenance activities and downtime
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through root cause analysis
- Play a key role in safety compliance
- Contribute to overall plant reliability and operational performance
Requirements
- Solid technical background in refrigeration and electrical systems
- Relevant refrigeration or electrical qualification
- Minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience
- At least 5 years of experience leading a technical team or workshop
- Strong experience with ammonia refrigeration systems, knowledge of cold storage refrigeration systems, exposure to food processing environments
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Refrigeration Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Certification in Ammonia Refrigeration Systems (e.g., R410A)
