Eastern Cape: Senior Manager: Operations Infrastructure and Systems (P5)

Department: Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Position: Senior Manager: Operations Infrastructure and Systems (P5) Permanent UFH Advert Reference No.: IC08 JOB PURPOSE: Senior Manager: Operations, Infrastructure and Systems is responsible for providing strategic leadership, governance, and operational oversight of the Institutions network infrastructure, data center environments, cloud hosting platforms and related services. The role ensures that all network and hosting services are secure, reliable, scalable and capable of supporting the Institutions digital transformation objectives and business operations. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Network and Hosting Portfolio Management: To provide strategic leadership in the selection, design, development/acquisition, configuration, deployment, maintenance, support of the Institutions network and hosting services and infrastructure portfolio. Financial Management: To provide strategic leadership in managing financial resources for the unit and ensuring compliance with the relevant financial governance prescripts. Human Capital Management and Leadership: To provide strategic leadership, direction and people management across the unit, ensuring availability of the right capabilities, culture and capacity to deliver high‑quality services and drive digital transformation. Stakeholder and Vendor Management : Lead effective collaboration with internal and external partners to ensure strong, strategic and collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors so that application systems are delivered, supported and enhanced in a way that meets business needs, ensures value for money and upholds service excellence. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or Computer Engineering (NQF Level 7) Postgraduate Diploma/ Honours degree in Information Technology (NQF Level 8) Minimum of 8 years experience in ICT 5 Years managerial experience ADDED ADVANTAGE Experience in Higher Education Additional business-related qualifications and certification ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge and experience in aligning planning of Network and hosting infrastructure with strategic goal achievement Knowledge and experience in managing infrastructure and security operations for network and hosting infrastructure Knowledge and experience in Planning of network and hosting infrastructure Architectures Knowledge and experience and knowledge of ICT procurement frameworks Knowledge and experience in Service Provider management in a network and hosting infrastructure environment Knowledge and experience of network and hosting infrastructure performance monitoring systems Knowledge and experience and knowledge of large enterprise-wide network and hosting infrastructure architecture and infrastructure COMPETENCIES: Business Acumen Change Leadership Critical Thinking Partnering Cyber Security Awareness ICT Risk Management Technical ICT Proficiency REMUNERATION A competitive remuneration package, commensurate with the seniority of the position, experience and qualifications will be offered.
