About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and organised Transport Controller to manage daily transport operations for a busy transport broker working with multiple clients and owner-drivers. As Transport Controller, you will be responsible for coordinating and dispatching trucks remotely, monitoring pick-ups and deliveries, and communicating with drivers and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and dispatch trucks remotely
- Monitor pick-ups and deliveries (port destination)
- Communicate daily with drivers and clients
- Collect and manage Proof of Delivery (PODs)
- Update systems and WhatsApp groups in real time
- Do bookings (Navis / Transnet experience an advantage)
- Conduct basic vehicle inspections on owner-driver vehicles
Requirements
- Own reliable transport
- Comfortable working remotely and independently
- Computer literate (Excel, Word, Email)
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Willing to work flexible hours (MonSat, may include Sundays & public holidays)
Qualifications
- Transport or logistics experience
- Navis / Transnet system knowledge
- Experience working with drivers and multiple clients
