About the Role
The Exports Controller is a key position in our logistics team, responsible for managing airfreight and ocean freight export operations to ensure efficient, compliant, and profitable export movements. This role requires a strong understanding of export regulations, carrier relationships, and operational timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Book airfreight and ocean freight cargo in accordance with client requirements and operational timelines.
- Determine optimal routing solutions to ensure cost-effective and efficient cargo movement.
- Track and trace export shipments through to arrival at destination or handover to third-party service providers.
- Provide regular and accurate shipment status updates to clients and relevant stakeholders.
- Control export billing processes and monitor shipment profitability.
- Negotiate with carriers, agents, and transporters to secure preferential and competitive rates.
- Manage and control all aspects of export documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate cargo handovers and ensure all required payments are collected prior to release.
- Prepare and manage airfreight and ocean freight export estimates and quotations.
Requirements
- Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
- Valid drivers license (Code 08)
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken
