Job Description

About the Role

The Payroll Officer position is responsible for full payroll processing, allocated to him/her by the department manager and representing Unique Personnel Ltd’s brand in a professional manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full end-to-end payroll processing for salaried and wage staff.
  • Engage with 3rd parties on payroll deductions.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure accuracy and that all processes are streamlined and effective.
  • Adapt effective control and ensure a robust framework is in place to manage risk and eliminate errors.
  • Assist with the calculating and reporting of Sales Commission, using internal software.
  • Prepare, submit, and request payment for statutory reporting, EMP 201, UIF declaration, company schedules.
  • Ensure that Employee Benefit schedules are reconciled to payroll and request payment.
  • Onboard new staff on payroll system and communicate with administrators on employee benefits.
  • Terminate employees on payroll system and notify employee benefits.
  • Extracting of payroll GL reports and importing to financial system.
  • Manage leave administration for salaried and wage staff.
  • Compiling and submission of EMP 501, Bi-annual and Annual submissions.
  • Assist with compiling information for audit purposes.
  • Ensure all employee files are updated and meet legislative and audit requirements.

Requirements

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or other related qualification.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years experience in the HR environment and performing payroll and general HR tasks.
  • Manufacturing experience would be preferable but not essential.
  • Sound knowledge of Sage People 300 and ESS system.
  • Knowledge of Syspro, will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Biometrics systems and reports.
