Job Description

About the Role

The Payroll Officer position is responsible for full payroll processing, allocated to him/her by the department manager and representing Unique Personnel Ltd’s brand in a professional manner.

Key Responsibilities

Manage full end-to-end payroll processing for salaried and wage staff.
Engage with 3rd parties on payroll deductions.
Investigate and resolve payroll issues in a timely and efficient manner.
Ensure accuracy and that all processes are streamlined and effective.
Adapt effective control and ensure a robust framework is in place to manage risk and eliminate errors.
Assist with the calculating and reporting of Sales Commission, using internal software.
Prepare, submit, and request payment for statutory reporting, EMP 201, UIF declaration, company schedules.
Ensure that Employee Benefit schedules are reconciled to payroll and request payment.
Onboard new staff on payroll system and communicate with administrators on employee benefits.
Terminate employees on payroll system and notify employee benefits.
Extracting of payroll GL reports and importing to financial system.
Manage leave administration for salaried and wage staff.
Compiling and submission of EMP 501, Bi-annual and Annual submissions.
Assist with compiling information for audit purposes.
Ensure all employee files are updated and meet legislative and audit requirements.

Requirements

A relevant tertiary qualification or other related qualification.
Minimum of 5-10 years experience in the HR environment and performing payroll and general HR tasks.
Manufacturing experience would be preferable but not essential.
Sound knowledge of Sage People 300 and ESS system.
Knowledge of Syspro, will be an advantage.
Knowledge of Biometrics systems and reports.
