About the Role
RPO Recruitment’s client, a well-established firm in South Africa, is seeking a qualified Bridge Engineer to join their multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm in either Centurion, Durban, or Cape Town. The successful candidate will contribute to both local and international bridge projects, supporting project teams and mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead bridge design and project management activities
- Provide technical guidance and oversee quality and productivity of team outputs
- Liaise with clients and ensure projects comply with technical standards and codes
- Conduct inspections, assessments, and prepare design/feasibility reports
- Produce cost-effective design solutions, tender documentation, and manage construction monitoring
- Implement quality management systems and mitigate project risks
Requirements
- BSc/BEng or BTech in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Professional registration (Pr Eng / Pr Tech Eng)
- 57 years of experience in bridge projects
- Proficient in Sofistik, Midas Civil, PROKON, or similar software
- Strong structural analysis skills and attention to detail
