About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Facilities Assistant to join our team in Durban, responsible for overseeing general building checks and maintenance of our offices. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor UPSs, HVAC systems, and Generators
- Perform minor repair work, including repairing doors, locks, door frames, and handles
- Replace light bulbs, sockets, switches, and window glass
- Perform basic plumbing tasks, such as unblocking drains and fixing leaking faucets and toilets
- Operate power tools, drill, grinder, etc.
- Handle hand tools and maintain the toolbox
- Prepare workspaces, clean of work area and equipment
- Install appliances, microwaves, kettles, etc.
- Mount TVs, install shelves, white boards, picture frames, etc.
Requirements
- Good numerical and writing skills
- Converse well in English
- General understanding of Occupational Health and Safety regulations
- Experience within an admin function, including general office duties
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Excellent multi-tasking ability
