• To support the development and implementation of procedures, to enhance the accuracy and integrity of Ward21 CRS’s data
• Performing data cleaning, collaborating with the data manager to enhance data collection and storage procedures, and preparing data for analysis and use
• Monitor project progress and key trends in performance and data quality

Location:

Key performance areas:

• Determine through critical review the accuracy of research records
• Ensure errors on CRF’s and relevant databases are corrected timeously
• Compile QA/QC report/s on findings for site management team
• Ensure completion of corrective action of internal and external QC reports
• Ensure comprehensive and accurate monitoring of recruitment, retention, safety and good data quality for the project
• Ensure site is well prepared for external lab, clinical and community monitoring reviews
• Support Regulatory/Data team with periodic quality assurance activities
• Review and ensure essential regulatory documentation available and up to date
• Assess staff awareness and compliance to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Protocol requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Regulatory Essential Documents per sponsor requirements
• Data quality capacity building and mentoring
• Creating data visualizations, dashboards and reports
• Take ownership and accountability for tasks and demonstrates effective self-management
• Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of own work are consistently and accurately maintained
• Maintain a positive attitude and respond openly to feedback
• Take ownership for driving own career development by participating in ongoing training and development activities such as conferences, workshops etc

Required minimum education and training

• Degree/ Diploma in the relevant field

Required minimum work experience

• 3-5 years developing, implementing, and managing data quality management systems
• Good knowledge on data quality, monitoring and evaluation
• Data quality capacity building and mentoring
• Report writing
• Proficiency in data quality management systems

Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities

• Working in donor driven projects in the South African context
• Self-motivated, ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Data cleaning and preparation
