Job Summary

Requirements:

Grade 12
Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in brazing in a manufacturing environment
Able to read and understand drawings

Duties include but are not limited to:

Fitting and cutting copper pipes by means of pipe cutter/circular saw/pedestal drill
Torch brazing to join copper to copper or copper to steel with a filler rod
Determine correct equipment and nitrogen setting for brazing process
Gather all components (headers and distributors) for brazing
Ensure materials are prepared as per requirements of job card
Braze unit as per brazing process using nitrogen for purging
Ensure that joints are leakproof when brazing
Ensure quality forms are signed
