About the Role

The Cost Accountant role at Pro-Match Recruitment offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the success of our client. As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for analysing, managing, and optimising costs across the business, playing a critical role in budgeting, pricing, and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Collect and analyse cost data to determine standard costs
Investigate and report on variances between standard and actual costs
Analyse material, labour, and overhead costs linked to production
Assist in the preparation of operational budgets
Monitor actual costs against budgets and provide variance analysis
Support management with cost forecasting and planning
Prepare cost and management reports for leadership
Provide meaningful insights to support informed business decisions
Ensure accurate inventory costing and valuation
Monitor costs related to raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods
Maintain reliable cost accounting systems aligned with production output
Work closely with the finance team and Directors
Support financial planning and cost optimisation initiatives

Requirements

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CIMA / CGMA qualification or progress towards it is highly advantageous
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Cost Accounting
Practical exposure to product-based environments (manufacturing, processing, or similar)
Experience in cost and management accounting is essential

Qualifications

Completed Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
