Job Summary
? Qualifications Required:
- A recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Education or equivalent (Postgraduate qualification is advantageous)
- SACE registration (South African Council for Educators)
? Skills and Experience Required:
- Proven experience as a Deputy Head of Academics within a reputable school in the Intermediate Phase or higher.
- Proven track record of driving academic improvement and innovation
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to inspire and motivate staff and students alike
- Proficiency in the use of technology for teaching, learning, and administration
? Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Lead the school in the strategic and day-to-day management of the academic program
- Oversee curriculum planning, assessment, and implementation across all phases
- Monitor and enhance academic performance, ensuring high standards are maintained
- Lead and mentor Heads of Department and teaching staff to foster professional development
- Drive academic data analysis and implement interventions where needed
- Ensure compliance with educational regulations and standards
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence in teaching and learning
- Co-ordination of the academic and timetabling programmes
- Engage with parents, students, and staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive academic environment
- Conduct parent interviews and respond to parental needs
