Duties:
- Oversee the financial wellbeing of the group by managing the full spectrum of finance activities
- Review and interpret monthly management accounts and provide strategic recommendations
- Prepare monthly management packs, year-end packs, and group consolidations
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, regulatory requirements, and IFRS standards
- Provide technical support and guidance to Finance Heads within the group
- Analyse financial performance, identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvement
- Assist with strategic planning and financial analysis
- Establish financial and operational strategies by analysing trends and performance indicators
- Review and sign off journals and oversee general ledger reconciliations
- Manage treasury functions and banking profiles
- Prepare annual financial statements and tax calculations
- Ensure the implementation and monitoring of internal controls and corporate governance frameworks
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes across the group
- Support automation initiatives and financial system implementations (e.g., Power BI and consolidation tools)
- Provide support on projects, financial modelling, and ad-hoc requests from the CFO
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- BCom Accounting
- BCom Honours
- CA(SA) qualification is essential
Experience:
- Completed SAICA Articles
- Minimum 5 years post-articles experience in a Finance Manager, Group Accountant, or similar role
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African financial regulations
- Proven experience with group consolidations and financial reporting
- Knowledge of income tax, deferred tax, and share-based payments
- Solid understanding of corporate governance, risk management, and internal controls
- Exposure to treasury and hedging instruments (e.g., FECs)
- Understanding of VAT, imports, and exports
- Strong Excel and financial systems experience
