Duties:

  • Oversee the financial wellbeing of the group by managing the full spectrum of finance activities
  • Review and interpret monthly management accounts and provide strategic recommendations
  • Prepare monthly management packs, year-end packs, and group consolidations
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, regulatory requirements, and IFRS standards
  • Provide technical support and guidance to Finance Heads within the group
  • Analyse financial performance, identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvement
  • Assist with strategic planning and financial analysis
  • Establish financial and operational strategies by analysing trends and performance indicators
  • Review and sign off journals and oversee general ledger reconciliations
  • Manage treasury functions and banking profiles
  • Prepare annual financial statements and tax calculations
  • Ensure the implementation and monitoring of internal controls and corporate governance frameworks
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes across the group
  • Support automation initiatives and financial system implementations (e.g., Power BI and consolidation tools)
  • Provide support on projects, financial modelling, and ad-hoc requests from the CFO

 
 
Job Experience & Skills Required:


Qualifications:

 

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • BCom Accounting
  • BCom Honours
  • CA(SA) qualification is essential

 
Experience:

  • Completed SAICA Articles
  • Minimum 5 years post-articles experience in a Finance Manager, Group Accountant, or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African financial regulations
  • Proven experience with group consolidations and financial reporting
  • Knowledge of income tax, deferred tax, and share-based payments
  • Solid understanding of corporate governance, risk management, and internal controls
  • Exposure to treasury and hedging instruments (e.g., FECs)
  • Understanding of VAT, imports, and exports
  • Strong Excel and financial systems experience
