Job Summary

- Proven experience with Fibre Optic Networks & Layer 2 protocols (VLANs, STP, MAC tables, managed switches)
- Minimum 2 years’ work experience in support or networking
- Strong troubleshooting skills in first-line network support
- Bilingual: English & Afrikaans

- Networking certifications (CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent) advantageous
- Experience with fibre optic design, implementation, or maintenance beneficial
? Requirements
Technical Skills
- Solid understanding of Layer 2 networking (VLANs, STP, MAC tables, L2 VPN)
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting managed switches
- Knowledge of Ethernet, MPLS, and related protocols
- Familiarity with network monitoring & diagnostic tools
- Fibre optic cabling, splicing, and testing experience
Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical ability
- Clear and professional communication (written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate issues
- Customer-focused with resilience under pressure
? Key Performance Areas (KPAs)
- Provide first-line support for fibre optic and Layer 2 networking issues
- Attend to ISP tickets and provide timely feedback to ISPs and end-users
- Troubleshoot, document, and resolve network issues efficiently
- Escalate unresolved cases to senior engineers where required
- Maintain accurate documentation and troubleshooting guides
- Perform routine network maintenance and assist with upgrades
