Job Title: Mechanical Draughtsman

Reporting to: Operations
Seniority Level: Mid-Career (2-4 yrs exp)

Minimum Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12
• National Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or equivalent
• AutoCAD Inventor experience (essential)
• CNC Milling Machine experience (advantageous / essential depending on company need)
• 2–4 years relevant experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of fabrication processes
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Proficient in 2D and 3D modelling
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills

Duties & Responsibilities

• Produce detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using AutoCAD Inventor
• Develop accurate part, assembly, and manufacturing drawings
• Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure correct design specifications
• Update and revise drawings according to engineering or client changes
• Assist in creating BOMs (Bill of Materials) for projects
• Provide technical support in the design and development of components and assemblies
• Ensure all drawings comply with company standards and manufacturing capabilities
• Collaborate with CNC machinists to ensure designs are suitable for CNC milling production
• Review manufacturability of components and suggest improvements
• Maintain drawing records, revisions, and document control
• Participate in prototype development and testing where required
