About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research and Regulatory Manager to join our team at Mayfly Agri in Gauteng, South Africa. As a key member of our regulatory department, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to agrochemicals. With your expertise in agricultural chemicals and regulatory experience, you will play a crucial role in the execution of agrochemical product registration and associated regulatory tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting management in executing agrochemical product registration and associated regulatory tasks.
  • Acquiring all relevant documentation to execute agrochemical product registrations.
  • Keeping abreast of international agrochemical regulatory developments.
  • Compiling and assessing all agrochemical regulatory dossiers.
  • Compiling and assessing all regulatory documents.
  • Assisting with export registration dossiers.
  • Compiling other regulatory documentation as required.
  • Liaising with regulatory departments and industry bodies (RSA and abroad) and attending relevant meetings.
  • Filing departmental documentation.
  • Supervising and training regulatory support staff and providing advisory functions.
  • Providing professional support to industry as required.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture
  • BASOS and CropLife accreditation
  • Minimum 5 years’ regulatory experience with agricultural chemicals (Remedies and Fertilisers)
  • Knowledge and understanding of all relevant regulatory legislation regarding chemicals management, with specific reference to Act 36/1947
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of GHS
  • Ability to conduct GHS classification and associated documents
  • Good understanding of biological research

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related field
  • Matric certificate (if applicable)
