Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full bookkeeping function, ensuring accurate financial records, statutory compliance, and timely reporting. This role requires a high level of accuracy, strong accounting knowledge, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

Perform the full bookkeeping function from source documents to balance sheet
Manage debtors and creditors, including invoicing and payment allocations
Prepare and perform bank, supplier, and general ledger reconciliations
Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure statutory compliance
Process payroll and prepare payroll-related reports
Prepare balance sheets and assist with management accounts
Support external audits and liaise with auditors when required
Ensure accurate record-keeping and adherence to accounting standards and deadlines

Requirements

Proven experience in a Senior Bookkeeper role
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
Demonstrated experience with the full bookkeeping function up to balance sheet
Solid knowledge of VAT, payroll, and reconciliations
Experience working with accounting software
High attention to detail with strong numerical accuracy
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
