South Africa: Financial Manager

Are you an experienced finance professional looking for your next challenge? An exciting opportunity is available for a Financial Manager to join a well-established organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the full finance function, ensuring sound financial management, compliance, reporting, and operational controls across the business. Minimum Requirements BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Completed articles will be advantageous. Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in a Financial Manager or similar role. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience working on Sage Evolution. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, management accounts, and financial reporting. Experience managing and developing finance staff. Key Responsibilities Oversee and manage the full finance function of the business. Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and ensure financial accuracy. Prepare and manage annual budgets and rolling forecasts. Analyse financial performance against budgets and provide recommendations. Prepare monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end reporting. Process month-end journals and reconciliations. Review and authorise EFT payments and banking transactions. Manage stock control and stock-related financial reporting. Ensure effective financial controls, systems, and procedures are implemented and maintained. Develop and maintain relationships with auditors, bankers, shareholders, and other stakeholders. Ensure compliance with SARS, CIPC, COIDA, audit requirements, and all relevant legislation. Lead, mentor, and manage the finance team. Provide financial insights and reporting to support strategic business decisions. Skills & Attributes Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong leadership and people management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
