Job Summary
- Supervise and coordinate all shift activities in the injection moulding plant
- Manage and lead teams of Machine Operators, Machine Setters, and Mechanical Fitters
- Oversee production scheduling and ensure targets are met efficiently
- Monitor and manage manufacturing systems and equipment performance
- Coordinate with other departments to optimize workflow and productivity
- Plan and allocate resources effectively across the shift
- Conduct staff performance reviews and provide coaching and development
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards
- Resolve production issues and implement corrective actions
- Maintain accurate production records using computer systems
- Communicate effectively with management and other shift supervisors
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization
- Handle staff scheduling, training, and development activities
- Manage inventory levels and coordinate material requirements
- Ensure proper maintenance schedules are followed
Essential Requirements
- Previous supervisory experience in similar manufacturing plant environment
- Strong background in plastic injection moulding manufacturing
- Computer literate with proficiency in production management systems
- Proven ability to manage staff and manufacturing systems effectively
- Excellent people skills and team leadership capabilities
- Strong coordination and planning skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights and weekends
- Solid understanding of injection moulding processes and equipment
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and standards
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of health and safety regulations
Desirable Qualifications
- Technical qualification in manufacturing or engineering
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
- Training and development certification
- Understanding of budgeting and cost control
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing environment with responsibility for multiple shifts
- Rotating shift patterns including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Fast-paced environment with production targets and deadlines
- Requirement to be on-call for production emergencies
