Basic Purpose:
- To co-ordinate, control, develop and manage the Production Planning team and Job Costing on all released production orders (SMO/SMEO/CRO/WTY/NMO/NFO/NMEO/NFEO/RMO/RFO/MM-SUB/MA-SUB/AMM/MA-AMM) .
- To give related internal process training to department employees.
- Plan and oversee all production of the Workshop Production lines, to develop these areas to enhance the Business in all areas required for the different divisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Function as the focal point in creating a production schedule for New Capital machinery, rebuild machinery Production using the best combination of Visual Manufacturing MRP System, Excel, and Microsoft Projects.
- The production schedule purpose is to provide a means o track and manage daily manufacturing workload, provide feedback to Sales on in-house vs subcontracted manufacturing hours, and provide regular reporting on manufacturing status. The production schedule will provide an in-depth audit on production requirements, manufacturing capacity, schedule, and workforce size.
- Monitors, analyses, and reports performance to schedule of production activities utilizing information derived from material and production control systems.
- Coordinate with project managers, sales and production to sequence manufacturing, assembly, and installations.
- Assist the manufacturing department to actively manage the production schedule.
- Research and assign manufacturing times and due dates on parts as needed and document during the releasing process.
- Coordinate with departments and project managers as needed to identify and resolve issues regarding budget and delivery.
- Monitor quality, service and delivery issues and take corrective actions as needed.
- Provide continual improvement of the planning and reporting processes.
- Chair production foreman tracking meetings.
- Monitor all production planning meetings with required departments of production, procurement, inventory management, projects, engineering, capital sales and warehousing.
- Accurately maintain and manage Business Central database for all released and historical production orders (SMO/SMEO/CRO/WTY/NMO/NFO/NMEO/NFEO/RMO/RFO/MM-SUB/MA-SUB/AMM/MA-AMM).
- Research order and delivery discrepancies and resolve MRP related issues. Take appropriate corrective actions to prevent similar issues.
- Routine clerical duties to support department activities and equipment. Including supervision of others performing these duties.
- Stay informed of current projects manufacturing workload, and manufacturing processes.
- Function as the focal point to move towards a more efficient system of entering engineering releases. The goal is continual improvement of the processes being utilized.
- It is the responsibility of the senior planner to quantify the cost of all planned production jobs (SMO/SMEO/CRO/WTY/NMO/NFO/NMEO/NFEO/RMO/RFO/MM-SUB/MA-SUB/AMM/MA-AMM/COMBS/MM-CBSRB) and report cost findings to the Financial Cost Accountant, considering the appropriate margin and quote released by Capital Sales, Aftermarket new sales, After market Repair sales for planned production jobs to the end user.
- To develop models on which to base recommendations to Production Manager on resources required in all production departments in order to achieve budget revenue, productivity, and results targets.
- To develop models on which to base recommendations to Executive management on productivity, efficiency, expected targets (KPIs) of the planning department output.
- Weekly meetings with procurement and inventory management department in following up on orders placed for spares as required by all planned production order processes (SMO/SMEO/CRO/WTY/NMO/NFO/NMEO/NFEO/RMO/RFO/MM-SUB/MA-SUB/AMM/MA-AMM).
- Meetings with Capital sales department on all outstanding required sales forecasts, order summaries and project/order information.
- Engineering/Technical department requirements submissions of information, drawings, bill of materials on production order demands.
- Aftermarket sales forecast submissions on all planned and work in progress repair sales business requirements.
- Sub-contracting order liaison together with Workshop admin & planning assistant on installation requirements to close of orders.
- Assist the Workshop Foreman in managing the cost of builds on capital, rebuild machinery and or sub assembly new and repair sales production orders.
- Managing, monitoring and reporting on released additional machine modifications production orders (AMM/MM-AMM) budget vs actuals to Production manager and Cost accountant.
- Monitoring and advising Capital sales on variances on subcontracting requirements for machine builds.
- Costing committee requirements and projects.
- Managing of all the planning teams released production orders are released, issued timeously, monitored, reported on and closed as and when required.
- Managing and monitoring planning teams schedules are issued to departments and are updated according to relevant planned and current demands.
- Release all field service machinery order requirement jobs of monitoring commissioning of delivered machinery to end user and releasing to allocated branch administrator. (COMBS/MM-CBSRB)
- Managing Job costing together with cost accountant is done in order to develop a proper database from which to base future quotations/estimations.
- Manage and utilize the companies computerized management system (Business Central) to record all required released production orders information and historical data.
- Generate and supply cost accountant, sales accountant, production manager and aftermarket sales monthly delivered machinery information.
