Completed tertiary qualification or studies towards a Bachelor of Science / Human Movement Science or similar
Must have good knowledge of human anatomy
1 -2 years theatre sales experience
Computer literate (Complete MS Word package)
Practical experience regarding hospital procurement systems and processes
Own transport and valid driver’s license
Duties :
To exceed the annual sales budget and plan sell full range of surgical instruments and surgical products in a professional manner to hospitals and related healthcare professionals and to build strong ethical business relationships with customers to ensure usage and gain greater market share at all times.
You will deal with :

Promoting current and new products
Actively seek to identify new business opportunities to sell new products
Exceed annually contracted budgets
Demonstrate a consistent work methodology that focuses on achieving targets
Demonstrate a consistent record of growing new business in the territory
Maintain and grow existing accounts and develop new “targets”
Promote products to be used in theatre and achieve commitment for a scrub
Take responsibility for the placement of orders post scrub (within 30 days)
Demonstrate sound planning that will result in achieving sales and marketing objectives
Take responsibility for follow – through of objectives
Demonstrate consistent preparedness to take personal accountability for outputs and performance
Effectively manage personal workload
Provide RSM with regular feedback on business objectives
Provide reports on progress – on continual basis
Timeously prepare and submit forecasts
Attend all business meetings
Completed punctually and accurately within given deadlines – e.g. planners, reports, leave forms, expense claims etc.
Complete, submit and store accurate business information at all times
Manage consignment stock – take ownership of stock signed out
Follow correct procedures to facilitate products gaining entry into theatres
Complete review and planning reports on a weekly basis
Assist with completion of tenders when required
Work co-operatively with admin office support and staff
Maintain a scrub rate of 10 per week. Two of the scrubs must be in Urology
Maintain a call rate of 10 surgeon’s room calls per week where a product is discussed and a full demonstration is conducted
Visit all theatre management, stores and procurement every week to discuss new products, consignment stock, problem solving and value adding suggestions and outstanding orders -this constitutes a follow up call
Have one monthly set appointment with theatre matrons for new products and problem solving discussions – this constitutes a business development call
Set 8 monthly appointments for new product and problem solving discussions with theatre matron – this constitutes a service call
Have one in – service training per week with theatre staff for the duration of 1 hour
Representatives to carry and maintain a uniform bag as issued by the marketing department. To be carried at all times whilst in the field
Achievement and exceeding of sales budget
Implementation of sales plan
Growing existing business
Managing customer relations at all levels in the designated territory
Effectively managing expense budget allocations as well as all consignment accounts is necessary
The incumbent will report to the designated Regional Sales Manager who will communicate sales plan and budget requirements. The RSM will also provide the necessary guidance with regards to the implementation of the sales plan to achieve budget
The incumbent is required to deal with all levels of customers in the buying chain in order to successfully implement the agreed sales plan
Identify positive and negative growth patterns within accounts
Closely analyze sales figures by Hospital by product on a weekly basis to identify losses and gains in business
Recommend recovery or attack plans according to sales data
Draft accurate sales plans to achieve budgets and increase sales growth
Analyze “month ahead” targets and goals
Extensive travel within territory and beyond when necessary. Travel away from home may include overnight stays
