Job Summary
AREA: Kempton Park Pomona
INDUSTRY: Electronic Recycling
Salary / CTC: R 18 000 – R 20 000 (Depending on current earnings, qualifications, and experience)
Report to: Directors
Type: Fixed Term Contract Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Maintenance:
- Install, inspect, and maintain three-phase electrical systems, including motors, switchgear, transformers, and associated equipment.
- Perform routine inspections to identify potential issues and conduct preventive maintenance activities.
Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions efficiently, minimizing downtime.
- Analyse and repair faults in three-phase electrical circuits and components.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with local and national electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Implement safety measures during maintenance and repair activities to protect personnel and equipment.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Update and create electrical drawings and documentation as needed.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to optimize electrical systems and support overall factory operations.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized electrical work when required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in electrical systems is preferred.
- Certification as an Electrician.
- Proven experience as an electrician in an industrial setting, with a focus on three-phase electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical principles, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Familiarity with industrial equipment and machinery.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in three-phase electrical systems and related equipment.
- Knowledge of industrial automation and control systems.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions if required.
