About the Role

WatersEdge Solutions is partnering with a tech-forward accounting firm to recruit a skilled Accountant to manage a diverse portfolio of clients. This is a remote opportunity ideal for a qualified individual who thrives in a tech-savvy, dynamic environment. The role offers exposure to modern accounting tools and processes, while supporting small and medium-sized businesses with full-service bookkeeping, tax, and compliance support.

Youll be responsible for financial reporting, tax returns, reconciliations, and client engagementserving clients locally and internationally. The position requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and strong time management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage client deliverables via the firms internal project management tool

• Prepare and reconcile trial balances, management reports, and financial statements

• Perform income tax, provisional tax, and VAT calculations and submissions

• Handle CIPC filings, queries, and compliance documentation

• Liaise with clients, bookkeepers, and internal team members to ensure accurate, timely reporting

• Review and manage cloud-based documentation using platforms like Xero, HubDoc, and Dext

• Research and stay up to date with the latest accounting tools and automation

• Coordinate payroll processing and compliance when required

What Youll Bring

• SAIPA, SAIBA, or AGA(SA) membership

• Proficiency with Xero, HubDoc, Dext, SimplePay, Draftworx, and eFiling

• Excellent verbal and written communication

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Ability to work independently across multiple time zones and client geographies

• Comfortable using AI tools and digital platforms

• Highly organised and self-disciplined

• Ability to manage multiple client portfolios efficiently

Nice to Have

• Exposure to international accounting standards

• Prior experience in fully remote accounting teams

• Familiarity with AI and automation in accounting processes
