George: Quantity Surveyor posted by Hire Resolve

Hire Resolves client is a leading Property Development firm that is urgently seeking the expertise of a Quantity Surveyor in George, WC.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing details to complete tender documents
• Preparing and pricing bills of quantities for contracts based on drawings and specifications
• Preparing Bills of Quantities and other tender documentation to acquire fair and equitable tenders for projects
• Preparing feasibility studies and budgets for proposed projects
• Negotiating building contracts
• Completing tender documents
• Arranging the necessary guarantees on projects as required
• Assist and/or prepare construction programme
• Prepare project cash flow forecast
• Liaising with and maintain good relations with clients, site managers and subcontractors
• Drafting contract documents
• Preparing sub-contractor payment advice and reconciliations for interim payments
• Prepare sub-contractor final accounts with reference to final valuations
• Preparation of monthly interim valuations/claims for submission to clients taking all variations and additional work into account
• Monitoring costs to ensure contract is performing according to budgets
• Ensure that supplier costs are in line with budgetary allowances
• Monitoring costs and reporting to clients during the design and construction of projects
• Assisting the site manager to control the cost of the project
• Making application to the architect or client for confirmation of verbal instructions issued on site
• Documenting changes in design and updating budgets
• Identify discrepancies between budgets and actual costs and escalate to Managing Director immediately
• Advising on contractual matters impacting on project performance
• Determining final costs of projects
• Preparing final cost report on overall performance of completed projects
• Ensure that all tasks and duties are executed and completed in strict accordance with the ISO standards as implemented by the company

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
• Professional registration with relevant industry bodies (e.g. SACQSP)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor
• Proven experience in managing costs and estimating quantities
• Proficiency in cost estimating software and tools
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, regulations, and industry standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
