George: Supply Chain Clerk / Warehouse Clerk

Job Purpose To ensure that the receiving, picking, packing, shelving, stock manufacturing, and overall housekeeping of the store are carried out accurately and efficiently to meet customer needs. The ideal candidate will have experience in the hardware or paint industry, with strong attention to detail and proven stock management skills. Key Responsibilities Stock Receiving Open and manage receiving areas for suppliers and couriers. Record all receiving documentation and verify accuracy of stock descriptions and quantities. Inspect stock for damages and report discrepancies to Buyers immediately. Process all GRVs (Goods Received Vouchers) without delay. Prepare and dispatch Return for Credit documentation when required. Ensure a second check is completed on all stock received. Correctly label stock and ensure it is packed away by close of business daily. Liaise with Buyers or Store Manager to arrange stock returns. General Duties Assist with IBTs, couriers, and dispatch processes when required. Maintain cleanliness and order in the marking and receiving areas. Enforce security protocols, ensuring no unauthorised persons enter restricted areas. Monitor staff movement in receiving and dispatch cages. Report facility-related issues (electrical, plumbing, etc.) to the Store Manager. Ensure all gates and doors are secured at close of business. Support other departments as needed. Uphold health, safety, and company policies at all times. Carry out all reasonable and lawful instructions as directed. Skills & Requirements Previous experience in a receiving, stores, or warehouse supervisory role, ideally in the hardware or paint industry. Strong organizational and stock management skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to lead, monitor, and discipline staff where necessary. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Reliable, proactive, and able to work under pressure.
