Job Summary
Responsibilities:
Operate a forklift safely to transport raw materials to production lines and move finished goods to storage or staging areasLoad and unload delivery trucks efficiently, ensuring no damage to goodsConduct pre-operation checks and report mechanical issues immediatelyMaintain proper stacking, handling, and inspection of palletsAssist in preparing materials such as trolleys, cylinders, and solvents for the next shiftKeep work areas clean and organized in compliance with 5S, GMP, HACCP, and EHS standardsRecord movement logs and support inventory tracking as neededAdhere to all site safety protocols, including PPE and traffic rulesMinimum
Requirements:
Grade 10 or 12; ITI in a relevant trade (Motor Mechanic, Fitter) is an advantage2 years experience in forklift operations, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial settingValid South African forklift license (LMV or HMV depending on load class)Solid understanding of forklift maintenance and safe operating practicesAwareness of GMP, HACCP, 5S, and EHS standardsPhysically fit, disciplined, and able to work rotating shifts under pressureStrong communication skills and ability to follow instructions preciselyInternal Interactions:Production, Warehouse, Dispatch, and Shift In-Charge teamsExternal Interactions:Occasional interaction with delivery drivers, logistics vendors, and gate security.
