About the Role
The Accountant (Factory Stores) role is a critical position within our organisation, responsible for maintaining key customer and supplier relationships, processing financial transactions, and ensuring accurate bookkeeping and accounting tasks are completed. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Key customer account maintenance
- Key supplier daily summaries and GRN processing
- Processing of approved credit notes
- Verification and payment process of weekly and monthly creditors
- Bookkeeping up to Trial balance including Month-end balance sheet account reconciliations
- Assistance with all bookkeeping and accounting tasks as periodically may be necessary
- VAT Reconciliation and Return preparation
- Review weekly Accounts Receivable reconciliations, and oversee and guide Financial Assistant
- Maintain customer price lists on Sage, load daily customer price deals
- Drive 20-Keys reporting in support of Snr Financial Accountant
- Direct support to Snr Financial Accountant and Cost Accountant
Requirements
- Relevant degree or professional qualification
- Completed SAICA/SAIPA training contract
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel essential
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in Sage ERP an advantage (not specified as a requirement, but mentioned as an advantage)
