Job Summary

Sagen Advisory recruitment company seeks a full-time, experienced Administrator and Secretary to join a well-known and respected medium-sized Accounting and Consultancy firm in Stellenbosch. This is an ideal position for professionals seeking a half-day, in-office role, working only 5 hours per day (08:00-13:00), Monday to Friday.

While a background in accounting or law is not required, it will be advantageous.

We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage a variety of administrative and secretarial tasks.

Key ResponsibilitiesAdministrative Support:

  • Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings.
  • Prepare and organize travel arrangements (e.g., flights, accommodations, itineraries).
  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, letters, and phone calls.
  • Maintain and update electronic filing systems.
  • Provide general office support, such as photocopying, scanning, and faxing.

Bookkeeping/Accounting Support:

  • Assist with budget preparation and tracking.
  • Process invoices and payments.
  • Prepare and reconcile bank statements.
  • Support project planning, coordination, and monitoring.
  • Perform data entry and maintain financial records.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to audits and financial reviews.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Requirements:

    • Attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Strong ethical and professional standards.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
    • Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Administrative Assistant or Personal Assistant.
  • Preferred:

    • Experience in accounting or law environments.
    • Proven skills in bookkeeping or accounting (not required but advantageous).
    • A certificate, diploma, or degree in Administration is an added advantage.
