About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and professional Assistant Lodge Manager / Duty Manager for a luxury safari camp in Hoedspruit. The successful candidate will support the Lodge Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining high operational standards across the camp.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations during assigned shifts and manage staff across departments
- Support the Lodge Manager in operational planning and execution
- Ensure high levels of guest service and handle guest feedback professionally
- Supervise housekeeping, food & beverage, and front-of-house teams during duty periods
- Maintain health, safety, and compliance standards across the camp
- Assist with staff scheduling, training, and performance management
- Monitor inventory, supplies, and equipment
- Handle administrative duties, including reporting and shift documentation
Requirements
- Previous experience in lodge or safari camp management, preferably within a luxury environment
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage teams and maintain high service standards
- Knowledge of operational processes across housekeeping, F&B, and guest services
